The Garden of the Ramparts (Jardines de los Adarves) are near the entrance of the Alcazaba. It was so called because it was located on the parapet walk by the ramparts under the fortress and it is one of the places with the most beautiful views over the city. There is in fact a mirador on the western end of the garden. The wall that goes to the Vermilion Towers (Torres Bermejas) starts at that point and a famous poem by Francisco A. de Icaza can be read on the wall:
Give him alms, woman,
For there is nothing in this life
Like the grief of being
Blind in Granada
