Freetours have become the preferred option for many travelers when visiting monuments and cities like Granada.
A guided visit to Alhambra is the best way to discover the history and architecture of the monumental complex. But, is it possible to take a freetour to the Alhambra?
Currently there are no official guides or companies that offer freetours to visit the interior of the Alhambra for free or for a price not previously agreed. The reason for this is that to visit the Alhambra you need to buy a ticket, which is nominative and must be bought in advance.
If you find freetour offers to visit the Alhambra, they most likely do not include access to the Alcazaba, the Generalife and, especially, the Nasrid palaces, taht is, to the interior of the monument.
The Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife sporadically organises free guided tours to the Alhambra, although this free option is available mainly to people born or resident in Granada.
In any case, there are plenty of options to visit the Alhambra with a guide at prices suitable for everyone.
The cheapest option is to book a group tour. There are many possibilities depending on the timetable, the size of the group or where you are staying:
Another more exclusive option is a private tour of the Alhambra. This option is ideal if you want to visit the Alhambra at your own pace, at the time of your choice and with an official guide dedicated to you and your family or friends. This can be an economical option if you book it for a large group.
Finally, we recommend that you book these services well in advance, as tickets to the monument are limited and usually sell out.
